CD Review: MAHIMA
It is always hard to keep up with the activities of the guitarist Bob Brozman. Last heard of duetting with René Lacaille on last year's beguiling DIGDIG; Brozman now hooks up with the Indian slide-guitarist Debashish Bhattacharya and his siblings, the singer Sutapa and the tabla player Subhashis on MAHIMA (Riverboat). The idea of the Hawaiian guitar heading this far off the beaten track may seem unlikely. As with most Brozman projects, the finished product proves that, in music at least, borders really are only in the mind.
